Barossa Valley….Home of the Shiraz Grape
August 19, 2008 in Australia, Barossa Valley | Tags: Australia, Barossa Valley | Leave a comment
We left Kangaroo Island and headed back to the mainland. We stayed in Adelaide for one night and toured the Barossa Valley the next day.
The scenery is amazingly beautiful….gently rolling hills mixed with grape vines and animals (cows, horses, kangaroos). This picture was taken at the Charles Melton Winery. We also visited Grant Burge, Langmeil, Henschke and Two Hands wineries. While they produce many different types of wine, this area is known for shiraz, a robust red wine. We did a few tastings and enjoyed them all. Two Hands was our favorite!
